Shundrea Trotty
Operations Manager

Shundrea has been a part of the Elpis Ministries, Inc. family since 2006.  She is currently responsible for the day to day operations at Elpis including staff, programming, fundraising, resource building and participant case management.

Prior to becoming a part of Elpis, Mrs. Trotty worked with community agencies such as; Willkie House, Inc., Des Moines Citizens for Community Improvement and Spectrum Resources.  She has worked in the non profit sector since 1999, beginning her career as a Community Youth Organizer.

Shundrea has been a part of several local and national boards as well as initiatives and projects including; Lifting New Voices Initiative (University of Michigan), Urban Ed in Washington, DC as well as the San Fransico based Community Justice Network for Youth working with national organizations to combat disproportionate minority confinement.  Her work with youth has been featured in the CJNY annual newsletter, National Training and Information Center (Chicago,Il) , Future 5000 and Funding Justice -The Legacy of the Unitarian Universalist Veatch Program.

Mrs. Trotty is currently continuing her education at William Penn University is a licensed Minister as well as being married with two children.


Jacque Linley

Ms. Jacque has been with Elpis Ministries, Inc. since the summer of 2008. She is responsible for the scheduling of staff one on one's, maintaining confidential records and assisting with Access to Recovery (Iowa Department of Public Health). She is knowledgeable of all Elpis programs in order to assist other staff in any area needed.

Mrs. Linley works with Des Moines Public Schools as Bus Associate, focusing in the area of safely transporting children with special needs.  Her love for her position with DMPS and the children she works with is a mirror of how she adores the individuals and families that walk through the doors of Elpis Ministries, Inc.

A Colorado native, Ms. Jacque has previously worked as a personal trainer, nutrionist and group instructor of various physical fitness classes such as; Step Aerobics, Abs and Weight Training. She is also heavily involved in her home church and community. She is the youth Sunday School instructor at Elpis Christian Fellowship in addition to being a member of Restoration and Prayze Community Choir.

Mrs. Linley is a blessing to the Elpis family, always willing to give a lending hand and ear.  She is married, has four children and three grandchildren.



Troy Floyd
Resource Navigator

Mr. Troy Floyd has been a part of Elpis Ministries, Inc. since the fall of 2008.  He has been involved in the community for a long number of years working with At-tisk youth in the Des Moines area. As a Resource Navigator, Troy assists the male participants in many areas that include; housing, employment, identifying beneficial resources and working with those involved in Iowa Department of Corrections. Step by step and task by task, he is there to help navigate particpants through obstacles while providing support and encouragment. 

Prior to working with Elpis Ministries, Troy obtained a certification in coaching from Heartland AEA in 2000.  It was from this time that he continued to work with young men on and off the court with a emphasis in At-risk inner city youth.  His heart in working with school aged children showed as he also has been employed as a Special Education Associate and Counselor.

In addition to having experience in working with young people, Mr. Floyd has worked with MECCA Services assisting individuals struggling in addiction and with Urban Dreams as a Case Manager.

In his spare time Troy still enjoys what started his community involvement...playing basketball, as well as talking with troubled teens and watching his children grow. He also very committed to his church family and enjoys to sing.

He is the father of 5 which include; four daughters ages 21, 19, 18, 1 and a son age 18.
